April fools' day pranks on the web

Following the April fools' day tradition, a number of websites have been playing pranks. It is interesting to note that a number of these pranks were played by scientists, scientific organizations and science journals. So my mantra for the day is "Don't Trust Anybody" (not even the scientists) and I would suggest the same for everyone. Here are some of the interesting pranks that I came across today. Have fun! :)

Google's pranks:

Google maps for 8-bit for Nintendo - Go to google maps and click on "Quest" on the upper right corner.

Google racing - Google announces autonomous vehicle technology in NASCAR.

Google tap - Google gets rid of bulky keyboards on mobile devices with google tap.

Other pranks:

Scientific American article: Neuroscientists: We Don’t Really Know What We Are Talking About, Either

CERN's press release: CERN scientists report sidereal influence on the behaviour of antimatter - antimatter are moving slower than usual (This one is particularly hilarious!)

Jon Butterworth in The Guardian: First evidence for string theory at the Large Hadron Collider

CERN blog: New particle spotted on Tristan da Cuhna island. Particle's name - foolion.

Phil Plait's tweet: "#BAFact: Time travel is certainly impossible; otherwise my future self would stop me from tweeting thi".

Happy April fools' day!
